Jessica Hsieh
Pt, DPT
Chang Gung University
New York University

Jessica grew up in Taiwan, where she attended undergraduate school with a degree of Physical Therapy, Bachelor in Science. She then worked and trained as a PT in Taiwan for almost three years before she decided to put down everything and move across the world. She went to New York University for her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. After she graduated from NYU, she moved across the country to the beautiful Pacific Northwest to pursue her PT career.

Since she grew up on an island, Jessica loved the beaches, the ocean, and the tropical weather. She scuba dived and loved the underwater world but fell in love with the mountains after she moved to Seattle and started exploring hiking and backpacking. Growing up, she participated in basketball and martial arts and that’s when she injured herself and started experiencing chronic pain in her foot for years. Throughout her recovery, she discovered the benefits of movements and how a missing link in one body part would affect the whole body. Therefore, she decided that’s what she wanted to provide to her patients. She met Shawn at her first PT job and Shawn shared and guided her into the movement system world. She earned her Certification in Applied Functional Science (CAFS) and 3D Movement Analysis and Performance System (3DMAPS) from Gray Institute. She also took courses from Postural Restoration Institute(PRI) and Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) to gain a better understanding of the movements of our body as a whole.

While she was in NYU for her DPT degree, she had a chance to take women’s health courses and was interested in deepening her knowledge and understanding of PT roles in women’s health. She took pelvic health level 1 training class with American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and shadowed a couple experienced pelvic health PT in the big Seattle area. She works with a variety of patients including incontinence, prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy and postpartum care. Jessica is driven to getting her pelvic health certification in the future.

Away from the clinic, Jessica enjoys the outdoor activities including running, hiking, backpacking, camping, playing tennis with friends, and snowboarding. She loves spending time with her husband, friends, and her orange tabby cat Tien Tien.
